| The picturesque capital of Halki is at the east coast, deep inside a cove, and with the help of a natural breakwater, the waters are crystal clean.
The first impression when you approach the island by the boat, is the spectacular view of the beauty of the houses, built in red tiles and amphitheatrically arroynd the harbour. Nimporio (Halki main village) has about 300 residents, living by fish industry, cattle breeding and tourism.
